About Us

Shorecare Urgent Care aims to run the best and most efficient Urgent Care clinics on Auckland’s North Shore. We endeavour to provide each patient with the most appropriate medical advice and efficient service in a caring and friendly manner on every visit.

Shorecare was established in 1973 by the North Shore Emergency Medical Services Society Incorporated to provide after hours patient care to the North Shore area. Originally the team worked out of the Lister Hospital in Takapuna until purpose built premises were opened in Milford in 1991 and Shorecare expanded its services to provide daytime emergency and accident services by offering 24 hour care. A second clinic was opened in February 1996 Shorecare at Northcross and in November 2010 the Smales Farm Clinic opened.

Shorecare has been the main provider of non-hospital after hours services on the North Shore for the last 34 years. Prior to the opening of the North Shore Hospital, Shorecare was the main provider of emergency care on the North Shore.

Shorecare operates through a system of core values to ensure patients receive the highest standards of care. These values include employing the best team of practitioners and providing them with supportive staff to ensure a positive work environment which promotes empowerment and accountability. Shorecare maintains a strong emphasis on teamwork within the clinics to ensure thoughtfulness and respect exists between colleagues in addition to the care and respect that is shown to patients. Shorecare places great value on integrity, trust and compassion so that patients always feel safe and confident about the service they are receiving.

We are always looking for staff, especially doctors and nurses with experience in urgent care. Please consider a career with us.
