COVID19 update 02/08/2021

COVID19 testing ONLY

If you require a COVID19 test only and do NOT require a consult with a Clinician, we ask that you please attend your nearest community testing centre (CTC).

These testing centres only do COVID19 tests and as such their results are prioritised and are set up for a surge in demand. Please use them.

The closest testing centre to our clinics is the Northcote CTC. Please see details below.

NORTHCOTE COMMUNITY TESTING CENTRE
16-18 College Road, Northcote
Corner of College Road and Kilham Avenue.
Entrance via College Rd
Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
Saturday to Sunday 8:30am – 2:30pm

COVID19 testing requiring a consult with a Clinician

If you are unwell and require a consult with one of our Clinicians, AND require a COVID19 test, please present to our clinics as usual for an urgent care, walk in appointment.

Follow the signage and instructions given to to you when you arrive, and ensure you alert our staff to any respiratory symptoms.

We ask in advance for your patience. Urgent Care clinics have a crucial role for those who are unwell or injured. We cannot stop this work and we have limited capacity to cater for a big surge in demand for COVID19 testing.

Pre-departure COVID19 testing

We have booked appointments daily between 9-10am at our Northcross clinic for pre-departure COVID19 testing. The cost of a PCR test is $280. The combined cost for a PCR and IgM test is $450. Results are guaranteed by Labtests to be back within 72 hours.

Please email the following details to admin@shorecare.co.nz or phone our clinic on 09 486 7777 to make a booking.

  • Full name (as per your passport)
  • Date of birth
  • NZ address
  • Ethnicity
  • Cell phone number
  • Destination country
  • Date and time of flight
  • Date and time to be tested

Please bring your passport to your appointment. This ensures your details are correct on the result.

Mask wearing at Shorecare

When you attend one of our Shorecare Clinics, our reception staff will provide you with a face mask to wear for the duration of your visit.

While mask wearing is not essential in most areas at New Zealand Alert Level 1, including most public hospitals, it remains mandatory in certain situations such as public transport. Most Auckland General Practices and Urgent Care Clinics have elected to continue mask use in order to increase the level of protection for our patients and staff from respiratory infections, including COVID19.

We recognise that mask wearing is unpleasant for many people, but ask that you comply with this request, during this difficult time. If you are unable to wear a mask, please let the staff know and we may be able to isolate you in a vacant room, or request that you wait in your car until the doctor is ready to see you. Thank you for your cooperation.
